Injustice is
becoming a norm
The publisher, Roberto
Savio
While there is a dramatic
evidence that injustice is becoming the norm, not the exception, it is a fact
that nobody is trying to curb it. Research by Nobel Prize economist Paul
Krugman, shows that as people become richer, they tend to accumulate more power,
beyond what it would be desirable for a functioning
democracy.
May be we have already
reached the point where democracy cannot curb that power. Look at the case of
Silvio Berlusconi. He has the support of a party, created and financed by him,
that now keeps the fate of the government in balance. To save it, they
must find a way to bypass the Italian supreme court judgment, which deprives
Silvio Berlusconi of parliamentarian status. Should we go back to revolutions to
ensure economic justice?
